She is the Sun

by Anya Stott

Her smiles are shining and happy like rays of light.

Dark, dreary clouds may hide the sun,

howling wind, pelting rain, booming thunder

but behind the turbulent facade,

the sun is still there.

That I am sure.

Her smiles are bright and joyous like a clear sky.

Bleak, chilling clouds may conceal the sun,

numbing draft, freezing roads, battering ice

but behind the frigid veneer,

the sun is still there.

That I am certain.

Her smiles are sparkling and carefree like the sun.

Clouds cannot cover its brilliance forever,

dazzling beams, radiating warmth, glinting sight

will eternally shine through.

The sun is always there.

That I know.
