Watching a Love Story

by Izzie Sandone

Hands against soft skin

Fingers intertwine

What a major win

All the girls in a line

Soft lips exploring places

Car drives through moonlight

It isn’t like my other cases

There’s never once a fight

High on love or drugs

Bursting into ecstasy

Wishing on all these ladybugs

My heart bleeds endlessly

Because you are not mine

I’m watching this other girl

As I cry blue and whine

I wish you were my pearl
